Taxi plows into NYC building, injuring at least 5

A taxi barreled into a Manhattan building right before 1 p.m. Monday, injuring five people, police said.

The incident occurred at 1186 Broadway in between West 29th and West 28th streets when the yellow cab traveling south struck the curb.

The driver stayed on the scene, according to police.

Video footage of the crashed taxi seemed to show it hit planters on the sidewalk before running into the building.

Police do not yet know the extent of the injuries or the identities of those hurt.

This is a developing story. Check back for updates.
